There is a better way then stealing money from smokers
Why aren't we helping smokers to adjust and quit? Just because your taking their money doesn't constitute any actual aid.

We know no other who demands our money more than Government.
The World Health Organisation is headed by the World Bank Corporation and its making a lot of money out of all this and now our Government too. In fact Governments all over the world are jumping in on the latest cash cow, backed by a campaign that persuades public support.
Eventually smoking will disappear (as it was without the tax), and what you will be stuck with because you supported this barbaric tax, is a revenue dependency this current Government is creating. What do you think will happen when smokers are no longer providing $25 Billion in revenue?.
Yep you guessed it, they'll turn to you, they wont scale back, they will come up with an alternative revenue stream like a sugar tax or a congestion tax to supplement their revenue addiction. This is why we must object to the strategy of corrective taxes that threaten all of us and must be stopped.
There are many prudent strategies on the list for eliminating tobacco use, and tobacco tax is from the bottom of the list.
We must recognise this tobacco tax as a deceitful tactic to obtain more of the public's money beyond the legal taxable limits. The Government has already engaged a survey on Sugar Tax, proving the point that this new taxing system is a way for Governments to collect even more revenue. There will be plenty more corrective taxes to come because tobacco tax is a lucrative pot of gold to them. Tobacco always was a golden asset to the Commonwealth and Government's all around the world, why else would they have such strict policies and severe penalties for growing it?
We must not allow our Government to evolve along this path, corrective taxes will achieve nothing other than to make a lot of people that are already struggling to cop with low wage growth and the high cost of living, even poorer.
